And she's wearing shoes from Market Publique!

The fabulous Jennine Tam was featured in the latest issue of 7x7 Magazine, The Best of the City. We loved her vintage outfit, complete with red lipstick fit for a vixen. The best part? The shoes are from Market Publique!

A big thank you to this lovely lady!

We're Obsessed with Jennine's Vintage Oversized Tapestry Bag!

Update to add: Jennine posted about her bag twin on The Coveted and within an hour the bag was SOLD! Whoa! We can't wait to see its new owner wearing it and loving it!

Remember Jennine's awesome oversized tapestry bag? I loved it when she wore it when we went shopping in the East Village. So imagine my surprise when Rabbits listed an almost identical one on Market Publique!!!

These kinds of bags are very rare, especially in such an large size. It fits all your essentials– and more– but it still feels dainty because of the romantic Victorian scene. More over, the clasp is also oversized, which secures your things and prevents it from falling open if you put a lot of stuff in. The shape is also really unique, more rounded. Most tapestry bags I find are usually the smaller, square-ish kind. And such perfect condition! The white faux leather trip is in excellent condition and the tapestry is clean and ready to be worn. So this is quite the find - and twins no less!

IFB Conference Recap & Photos!

Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence

The Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference was not only a lot of fun, but plenty illuminating. We posted a few initial photos a few days ago, but here are some more photos, by our resident photographer Kate Sims

Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence Conference Greta Eagan

We hung out with tons of our favorite bloggers, including Greta from GretaGuide.com. Here she is, talking to my husband and Market Publique co-founder Jon. Her outfit was definitely one of my favorites. And yes, I am biased because she wore the platform bow slingbacks she purchased from us when she visited our studio, but also because I love the contrast of her pleated army pants and super-sexy mesh top.

Plus be on the lookout for an upcoming Greta Guide and Market Publique collaboration!

Jon unknowingly jumped on the blogger style chain by wearing his vintage chambray button down shirt. What do you think about that, Jon?

Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence Conference The Clothes Horse & Delightfully Tacky

Another one of our favorite bloggers, Rebecca, of The Clothes Horse was also there. Yes, yes, the photos of the shoot we did with her are coming soon! Plus, we met Delightfully Tacky blogger Elizabeth, who was in town all the way from Alaska!

Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence Conference Pamela Castillo from Market Publique

I spoke at the first panel, Marketing Workshop, with Corinne of Threadbanger, Erika from Elle.com, Melody of The Crave Company, Nichelle of Stylemom.com, & Shubhankar of G-Star Raw. Video of our panel can be viewed here.

Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence Conference Deanne Yee

After each panel, Deanne from Dream Sequins conducted a short video interview with each panelist. I can't wait to see the videos!

Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence Conference

One of the most interesting panels was the one on Blogging Ethics, moderated by Wendy Brandes in her oh-so-appropriate dollar bills dress. The panel featured Gina Garrubbo of BlogHer, Clark Hoyt of the New York Times, Mary Scherpe from Stil in Berlin, Jessica Schroeder from What I Wore, Imran of Business of Fashion, & Diane Pernet of A Shaded View on Fashion.

They discussed the much-debated issue of bloggers getting swag, the double standard applied to magazine editors and the usefulness of having a editorial / advertisement barrier. Read more about what Wendy wrote about this panel here.

While that was the 'meatiest' of panels, I think everyone's favorite was the last panel, moderated by none other than Jennine Tam (wearing a vintage dress, no less!), and featuring rockstar bloggers like the girls from Fashionista, Bryanboy, Tavi Gevinson, Susie Bubble and Phil of Style Peeper. They were all hilarious and down-to-earth and I loved to hear their perspective on this so-called war surrounding Fashion Week front row seats.

Jennine did an amazing job planning the conference and making it happen. I was so honored when she put me down on the Special Thanks section of the program for "helping out big time". But really, the one who deserves the thanks is Jennine, for spending years building this supportive and important community of independent fashion bloggers.

Outfit - Walking the West Village

vintage turban hat, vintage cropped trapeze top, vintage pleated pants

Walking around the West Village with Jennine! (a big thank you to Jennine for taking my outfit photo).

Last Friday, Jennine and I decided to spend some quality time (and much needed relaxation!) walking around the West Village before she left the city. We had a great lunch at Morandi talking about all things Internet related. Then we walked around Bleecker and Christopher Street and did some shopping.

We oogled jewelry at Sucre & Albertine General, tried on various garments at Cynthia Rowley, and Jennine ate her first-ever Magnolia cupcake. YUM! We mostly behaved, but I did end up getting a pair of vintage malachite earrings and a 50s clear lucite bracelet at Albertine General. There was too much temptation there for me to resist! I justified it by having a matching malachite ring and knowing that clear accessories are the thing to have right now...

After that, we stopped by Aedes de Venustas, my favorite perfume store ever, were Jennine helped me narrow down my perfume choice to 1, after many months of deliberation (I'm very picky about perfume). More on the choice later...

Here's what I wore:

Turban, vintage from Patricia H. via the Manhattan Vintage Show

Cropped trapeze shirt, vintage from Lorry Polizzi via the Manhattan Vintage Show

Lace bodysuit, TopShop (bought due to regret of selling this vintage one!)

Pleated pants, vintage, thrifted

Booties, Marc by Marc Jacobs about millions of years old (at least 4).

Jennine from The Coveted

Jennine had a fabulous outfit on - of course. Take a closer look on her blog.

For all of you pining after her overized vintage tapestry bag, I have a surprise for you... Stay tuned!!!

Magnolia cupcakes - yum! And they have rainbow sprinkles!

Sneak Peek - At IFB's Evolving Influence Conference!

IFB's Evolving Influence Conference

Independent Fashion Bloggers hosted a conference on Monday for bloggers to get together and discuss important topics in the arena.

Jennine Tam Jacobs, founder of IFB, did a fantastic job organizing the conference and attracting the cream of the crop in the blogging world. All panels were substantial and informative and I had a terrific time mingling and meeting people and reconnecting with out-of-town colleagues.

Our host and the event's organizer, Jennine, founder of IFB and The Coveted, wore vintage from Market Publique!

She wears:

Vintage Jean Paul Gaultier silk cutout tunic and vintage beret from the Market Publique House Store.

Vintage deadstock bracelets by Erica Weiner via the Market Publique Pop-Up Store

Jacket and leggings, TopShop.

Wendy Brandes

I loved Wendy Brandes full-length Leopard dress, complete with faux pony tail, fringe bag, and story.

Apparently, so did everyone else, as you would receive beads as 'votes' for your outfit during the party!

More Fashion Week Fun at the IFB Dress Up Soirée

The IFB Dress Up Soirée was the funnest ever! I know funnest is not a real word, but I think it should be, so there. I knew the party was going to be a blast, judging from the last one, but it really did exceed my expectations.

It was jam-packed with bloggers galore, including most of my favorites! I met so many fabulous people and saw so many fabulous outfits.

I was a little late, and ran out without my camera, so I have grabbed the photos from other bloggers, which I will credit, of course. Pardon me for the lack of original photos! Also, my lateness prevented me from getting a good spot for the panel, so I barely heard most of it, and therefore I will not report on it. Next time, I plan to sleep in my outfit the night before so I am realy at all times.

IFB Dress Up Soirée

The party was PACKED. There was a line around the block when I showed up, but I found Nikki and Mel and we waited in line together makeing the time fly by. There was no space upstairs to listen to the panel anymore, so I was downstairs attempting to hear and hanging out with Charissa of Purple Bliss (that's us in the corner...). Photo via Thumbelina

Here's Jennine leading the panel that I was barely able to hear from downstairs... I hear there's a video of this, so maybe I can catch up!

You can also see panelists Susie Bubble and Geri of Because I'm Addicted, and Jordana from Clutch 22. Photo via Dream Sequins.

We all know Jennine is awesome, but I would like to ennumerate just a few reasons in this post:

1. She founded IFB

2. She made this party happen, and thus brought all of us together IRL.

3. She decided to wear vintage from Market Publique to the Dress Up Soirée.

Jennine came to our FNO Pop-Up Shop and fell in love with the vintage red and black Jean Paul Gaultier silk tunic she is wearing (it has cutouts at the hem!), the little red vintage beret, and multiple vintage deadstock bracelets from Erica Weiner. She added how own jacket, leggings and shoes and we loved the look! Thank you for wearing Market Publique Jennine!!

I didn't run into Kelly of The Glamourai while there, but I did see this photo on Thumbelina and was glad to see the dress she bought when we went shopping at Beacon's Closet with Jessica a few weeks ago - it rocks!

IFB Dress Up Soirée

After the party was winding down, we stepped outside to plan our next move and Wendy took a picture of my shoes - thanks Wendy! Now I get to keep the shoes forever! YAY!

IFB Dress Up Soirée

We decided to start an after party a couple blocks up at White Star. Loved hanging out with all the fabulous ladies who came, including Alix of Alix Rose, Sara Anissipour, Jennine, Jordana and more.

It was a lot of fun! So much so, that Wendy and I decided we deserved nachos at 2 a.m. so we headed to the hat* San Loco and shared some crispy chips, favorite vintage designers, and random thoughts about 14-year-old fashion bloggers (among other things).

*The hat was closed. Too bad, because they have to-go Margaritas!
