Model On Duty: Market Publique Shoot from Greta Eagan on Vimeo.

We met Greta when she came over to check out the Market Publique Studio during NYFW. She was way too adorable, so we asked her if she would model for us for an upcoming photoshoot. Greta said yes, and voilá, here's the behind-the-scenes video of when we made it happen!

Ben Kaufman did a fantastic job with the photos, which will be up soon! I did the hair, makeup and styling with the assitance of Joan Costello.  I can't wait to show you guys! And yes, I wore a sequined sweater while at it. Why not? Sequins are a basic.

We loved working with Greta. Not only is she stylish and gorgeous, she is super sweet, super positive and energetic and always on the lookout for things that make the world better - like being sustainable and looking fabulous while you're at it.

Look for more collaborations with Greta and Market Publique in the future, as this is one girl we're not missing a chance to work with any time soon! Thank you for everything Greta!

Market Publique at the Manhattan Vintage Show Recap

The Manhattan Vintage Show was fabulous, and despite the snow on Saturday, vintage lovers trekked down to the Metropolitan Pavilion to gaze at the millions of gorgeous vintage goodies on display.

Our booth was buzzing with energy, with people going gaga over fabulous pieces from our featured sellers. The most popular ones? The orange Donald Brooks arrow coat from Artifaktori,  the leopard print cape from Erstwhile Style, the oversized houndstooth Alaïa Jaccket from Some Like Us, the Norma Kamali jacket from Dusty Rose, the Chanel gloves from the Market Publique House Store and a gorgeous lips and eye print dolman sleeve jacket from Rabbits that was so Schiaparelli-like and so me - and it was tough to let it go... the torture I felt when it sold!!!

Exquisite pain aside, we had tons of fun telling people about Market Publique, introducing them to our new Full Service program (more details tomorrow!) and walking around and seeing what fabulous vintage pieces the 90+ vintage vendors around the Show had. Plus, saw the best outfits ever, and Rachel Zoe, Lynn Yaeger and many other fabulous people stopped by our booth - what more could a vintage-loving gal want?

Thank you everyone who came by! It was great to meet so many Internet friends in person! Thanks for all your support!

Here's some photos Kate took at the show. Enjoy the memories!

Vintage Chanel patent leather gloves

The lucky shopper who fit into the super gorgeous patent leather Chanel gloves. Yes, of course she bought them!

I decided to play it safe in dark colors on Friday, as we had to haul a bunch of stuff to the show. I wore a vintage black cashmere sweater, a silk skirt by Lewis from Thistle & Clover, a beaded beret which the lovely Artifaktori gals gifted me, and my über stylish cash register: a crystal crusted bronze bag from Cure Thrift Shop

What I wore to the Manhattan Vintage Show

On Saturday, I decided to opt for more color. I wore a Uniqlo heattech crewneck, vintage St. John Sweater vest from Market Publique, Samantha Pleet shorts (yes, I do wear these all the time!), black tights, vintage Maud Frizon shoes, vintage Monet tassel necklace, vintage Sonia Rykiel handbag from the Dossier Shop (since closed), & a vintage silk scarf from Stache

Outfit Post - Sunny Winter Day

vintage wool dress the frippey

A sunny winter day in Brooklyn... last week, obviously, since it's been raining for the past couple of days!

Dress, vintage from The Frippery on Market Publique

Necklaces, vintage from Horizons & Circa Now

Earrings, vintage

Tights, unknown

Booties, Steve Madden

Most of the time, I like to keep my outfits simple and fuss-free. A cute dress that fits well, some tights, and high-high heels. Add a few necklaces for a bit of polish.

vintage dress from the frippery

I love this dress because the wild flower print is fabulous, and the colors make it go with a lot - burgundy tights, brown boots, the possibilties are endless. Plus, since is a wool knit it fits like a dream and is super warm and comfortable. I wear it to work all the time, now that I've shortened it a bit (hey, at my height, I have to).

Brass minaudiere necklace from Horizons

The necklaces are some of my favorites. One is a super-mini-minaudiere in brass from Horizons. It opens up to reveal a velvet lining, and you can store tiny treasures in it. My hubby Jon put a Guatemalan worry doll in it, because he says I worry way too much. The legend goes than you tell all your worries to your worry doll, you hide the doll and the doll will leave, carrying your worries with it. Nice idea, right?

Guatemalan worry doll

The other chains you see are actually one necklace, all attached at the clasp. I got them at Circa Now here in NYC, and they are great because they have the layered look without the effort. Plus the tassel pendants are finished on both sides, so it doesn't matter if they turn over.

Steve Madden booties

I decided to get with these Steve Madden booties after trying them on at the store when my friend Patti was in town. I love that the elastic cinches at the ankle and that they have a hidden platform - it makes them much more comfortable to walk in.

Our Interview for Diiver

We were interviewed by Diiver about what Market Publique is all about, how the idea came to us and other fun tidbits about the company and myself *blush*.

You can read all about it on their website. Thank you Diiver!

Blogger Rebecca, of The Clothes Horse, in Prim Plaid from Market Publique

Vintage plaid skirt market publique as seen on The Clothes Horse

We've been fans and readers of The Clothes Horse for a while, and have been inspired by  Rebecca's unique style for months. We especially love her penchant to find the perfect pair of tights to pair with each piece - including our very own plaid skirt, which she borrowed and paired with some rust colored tights. We think it was an excellent choice over the knee high socks.

Here's a peek at her outfit, but visit her awesome blog for more pics. The skirt is on loan, along with a few other pieces we sent her, so if she doesn't decide to keep it (tempting, tempting!), it will be listed on the Market Publique House Store for sale soon!

Tons of Fun at the Bust Craftacular

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

The Bust Craftacular was tons of fun! Great music was spinning (we heard some awesome vintage tunes!), lots of people to meet and talk to, and we sold some great vintage pieces, while still getting to hang out, chat, and drink a beer (or two). Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, if I do say so myself!

Thank you for coming by to visit us!!

Most photos by Kate Sims (the bright and good ones are hers, the three kinda crappy ones I took with my lil' point and shoot...).

We had our booth in the corner, next to the bar - a great way to meeet people. Traci, who is featured on our latest postcard, came to help us. We both dressed in all-out black sequins!

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

We brought more sequins for everyone too, and tons of cozy, cuddly sweaters. And a Bonnie Cashin coat!

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

We had a great turnout, as you can see! Thank you everyone for all your support on our first Bust Craftacular ever!

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

Here's me in my sequins! I got this amazing blazer from Sammy D Vintage, who was so super nice to write this awesome post about us and helped us spread the word. Thank you Sammy! Not only did my outfit shine with her vintage, but she's so great!

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

I accessorized my sequin blazer with this adorable Santa pin, which I found thrifting during our trip to New Paltz. Did you recognize the sweater from our poster? Also from that trip!

I wore: Blazer, vintage from Sammy D Vintage. Pin, thrifted. Blouse, vintage Valentino from Fluke. Shorts, Samantha Pleet. Black tights. Bow, vintage from Market Publique.

I also opted for flat boots, and wore my trusty Loeffler Randalls, since I knew I was going to have to stand all day, plus carry tons of clothes back and forth for the set-up and break-down. Style? check. Comfort? check.

I also pretty much never drink beer (gluten issues), but it looked too delicious, since we were right next to he bar...

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

The bar was a great way to meet cool people, like Jessie, who makes these awesome feathered earrings (our photographer, Kate, had to get a pair!). We love how they're assymetrical.

Jessie and other cool people perused our box of scarves, racks of clothes and our small men's section.

Plus we had tons of little accessories to go with the clothes.

This girl zero-ed into this wool Southwestern print skirt by German label Mondi. She said she loves wearing all her mom's Mondi stuff from the 70s and 80s.

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

She tried it on, and it was meant to be! off she went, in her new vintage skirt, awesome elephant necklace and gorgeous hair. I mean seriously, can I have that hair?

Leslie came to help us out in the afternoon, and she rocked it. Soon, so soon, you'll be able to take a peek at her new collection... Stay tuned. And that awesome jacket she's wearing? Vintage 80s The Limited. Uh huh.

Market Publique selling vintage at the Bust Craftacular

Blogger Jessy of Wide Awake Thoughts loved Leslie's jacket. She was visiting from Australia, and was the nicest! It was so great to meet her and her beau. If you haven't checked out her blog, I highly recommend! She puts together some mean outfits, as you can see.

Speaking of rad jackets, blogger Kim (who you may also recognize from Keiko Lynn's blog) fell in love with this gold sequined jacket. Some other lucky girl is now wearing it for New Years, as it sold right before the show ended.

We met some of the Bust people too. Everyone was super nice, helpful and accomodating. They put together a great event. Thank you Bust!

Sequins are one of the biggest trends this season, on and off the runway, and as evidenced by all the magazines. And why not? They can take you from day-to-night in a flash, and add some sparkle to a basic outfit. Plus, when the holidays roll around, who doesn't want to be drenched in sequins?
