 Texas Style Council Conference

I was part of the Texas Style Council Conference, including leading the Thrifting Tour on Saturday with fellow bloggers Elissa from Dress with Courage, Jessie of Style and Pepper & Jentine of My Edit.

Despite the torrential rain on Saturday, many bloggers came out and we had two buses full of thrifting enthusiasts! We cut the shopping locations short a bit because of the weather, which gave us way more time to dig through the racks at Savers.

The staff Savers was fabulous, and they greeted us with coffee, snacks and even 20% off coupons! Amazing.

All of us leaders gave a short little speech filled with useful vintage tips. My tips were more of a list of supplies, and many asked to have it, so stay tuned for a little compiled Thrifting 101 Tips guide!

Apparently out tips worked, because everyone went home with amazing finds. At first I was a little scared to share a thrift store with a busload of stylish ladies, for fear fist fights and hair pulling would ensue over an amazing dress or skirt, but everyone was super nice and even helped find things for eachother! Awww. Bloggers unite!

You can see recaps of the events on all of the other ladies' blogs, including more photos!

Headed Down to Texas!

Texas Style Council Conference

Hey y'all! I'm headed down to Texas to speak at the Texas Style Council Conference this weekend!

Last year, Indiana Adams of Adored Austin put together an amazing (and super fun!) New Media Fashion Brunch and Boutique Crawl.

This year, the festivites have grown. Indiana joined forces with Grechen of Grechen's Closet, and put together the Texas Style Council Conference.

Spanning the whole weekend, the conference includes a swap organized by The Swapaholics, for which we're sending a box of goodies from Market Publique, as we are a Seed Sponsor.

On Saturday there's shopping and treasure hunting, and then Sunday is the actual conference with panels and workshops featuring soem fo my favorite bloggers and companies.

I am honored to be speaking at one of those panels, at 2:30. Hope to see you there!

Amber Venz

Amber Venz, of VenzEdits

Speaking of Texas, I have been meaning to share this fabulous Dallas gal's style. We met Amber at the IFB Workshop we taught for NYFW, and she was wearing our favorite outfit of the day: a vintage dress over leather leggings, black wedges and the amazing Céline luggage tote. And that hair, that hair! More about Amber's outfit on her blog.

Amber does not only write her blog, but has also started her own jewelry line, which is big and bold just how I like my jewels. I'm looking forward to seeing more of here when we come to #TxSCC!
