Vintage Trend: Oxfords

We are loving the oxfords trend on the runway and on the street. They add a dash of menswear to frilly sundresses, and are the perfect alternative to sneakers when you need to walk a mile, ride your bike or enjoy a rockin' outdoor concert.

Here's a few of our favorite pairs, for sale now on Market Publique.

Runway Spring Jackets - The Vintage Way

It's that time of year we've all been waiting for...SPRING!

It's strange to think that snowpocalypse took place just a couple weeks ago. And now we are graced with sunshine and warm weather!? I don't mind weather gods, let's keep the sun shining. I am more than happy to retire my puffy winter jacket and let it hibernate in the depths of my closet.

However, current weather conditions still call for a light jacket. Check out the great Spring jackets we have in the store now. I even did a little trend comparison to see what is present from the runway. What's old is new, and currently available to you! Check them out now before it's too late!

Trend Alert: Tie Dye Printed Shirts, Dresses, and Scarves from Spring 2010 Runways

We're loving the tie dye trend all over the Spring runways. Tie dye has become quite good at appearing, disappearing, and then reappearing on the runway. However when it does reappear it possesses this magical power of always looking better than ever. Spring 2010's current take on tie dye is refreshing and inspiring. Inspiring in the sense that I am more than ready to trade in my winter uniform of an oversized boyfriend cardigan and opt for a colorful palette of tie dye tops and spring dresses. Tie dye is easy to wear, it's fun, it's flirty, and as long as it doesn't look like the t-shirt you made at Summer Camp when you were age 10, then you're golden.

Is too much tie dye too overwhelming? If so, then try an accessory. We all oohed and ahhed when we stumbled across this feature in Grazia magazine, which Greta from Greta Guide brought to our photo shoot for inspiration.

Accessorizing with a scarf in the Spring/Summer seasons isn't always an obvious choice, but as you can see, the photo above is printed proof that a scarf can absolutely pull an outfit all together.

Shine On in Sequins

Sequins are one of the biggest trends this season, on and off the runway, and as evidenced by all the magazines. And why not? They can take you from day-to-night in a flash, and add some sparkle to a basic outfit. Plus, when the holidays roll around, who doesn't want to be drenched in sequins?

Whether it's a little shiny accessory as an accent, or full-blown glitz, we have some vintage options from Market Publique:

Strong Shoulders - From Runway to Reality

Strong shoulders are undeniably a big trend this season, and for good reason: they make you look polished, update your silhouette and make your waist and hips look tiny in comparison. Plus, every once in a while, we all can use a little armor and padding.

We've gone straight to the source with some vintage 80s styles so you can wear the trend without investing a lot. Here's how we went from runway to reality:

Skirts Do Double Duty

When we gave Amber from Painfully Hip a few of our vintage pieces, we knew she would style them up to the max. What we didn't expect was a full-blown trend! Ever since she featured two skirts worn as dresses, we've kept seeing skirts doing double-duty everywhere.

Maybe the trend didn't start with those two skirts, and maybe it's a result of girls everywhere trying to stretch their shopping dollars and closet options, but we're definitely on track!
