What I Wore

Market Publique at IFB's Evolving Influence Conference

IFB Evolving Influence

We're so excited to be part of Independent Fashion Blogger's Evolving Influence Conference during New York Fashion week!

The conference sounds more amazing by the minute, and I'm so excited to see friends and meet new faces.

I'll be speaking at the first panel, Marketing Workshop, along with Elle.com, Threadbanger, Stylemom, The Crave Company and Signature9, but I wouldn't dare miss the rest of the panels — featuring Susie Bubble, Tavi Gevinson, Diane Pernet, Dossier and many more of my faves!

Check out the full list of panels and panelists at IFB.org.

See you all there!

There are some things in life that add instant party perfection to any outfit - and gold metallic brocade is one of them. Which is why when Jessica came over to pick out a few of her favorite Market Publique pieces, this little brocade number stood out. She decided to wear it for Thanksgiving diinner, topping a classic little black dress for a perfect hostess style.

Now, you can grab it for any of your upcoming holiday parties! This one is a fixed price listing (no bidding or waiting!), so grab it quick before someone else does.

Vintage is in the air, and we love how Brooklyn based bloggers Keiko Lynn and Jessica wear it.

Keiko and I had lunch a few days ago near the Market Publique studio, and she came by to pick up the prize for our upcoming giveaway on her blog (check back for details!). Our studio is always tempting territory, filled with vintage goodies galore, perfect for browsing around. She found some adorable vintage gloves in a muted orange hue, and they went so perfectly with her plaid coat that we decided it was meant to be and give them as a gift to her.

As you know, we also loaned Jessica a few of her favorite pieces, including a fox fur trimmed wool coat, and a chevron striped jersey dress. This week she styled this cute velvet bolero jacket from Horizons with a bright fuchsia shirt and some pale cords. We love it!

Get your bidding war on!

Vintage teal dress market publique

Jessica came to our studio a couple of weeks ago and borrowed some of her favorite pieces to style them up and incorporate them into her wardrobe.

Last week she wore a fabulous fur and wool coat and gloves, and this week she wore one of my favorite dresses ever: A teal and black jersey dress with mitered stripes on the top to create a chevron and a v-neck on the front and on the back. It also has cute ballerina sleeves and a full gathered skirt - what more could a girl want?

Of course, we knew this dress was too adorable not to get all sorts of attention... I mean, the stripes! the V! the chevron!

Plus Jessica always knows how to accessorize it just right! :) (Also, big news: she just got engaged! Hop on over to her blog and leave a comment to congratulate her!)

Jessica borrowed our fox collar coat and some fabulous cropped gloves to get inspired by Margot Tenenbaum while playing with leaves at the park. Here are some pictures of her outfit, but you can see more of it (and get all the deets!), on her blog.

Both Market Publique Items are now for sale! So don't miss out on our BEST winter coat, and a pair of super-unique gloves that are vegan-friendly but with the croc-print look.

Vote for Our SxSW Panel Idea!

We've attended SxSW twice already, and while we love the conference, there's never enough panels on the interaction between fashion and technology. So we decided to do something about it!

We've submitted a proposal to present a Panel at SxSW 2010 called Fashion Revolution.

We've joined forces with Weardrobe and What I Wore, and have other amazing panelists up our sleeves... We promise it will be amazing, so vote for us!
