Featured Store: Sweet Virginia, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Sweet Virginia, 164 Havermeyer St., between S. 2nd & S. 3rd St. Williamsburg, Brooklyn
One of my favorite discoveries while running to the Williamsburg Post Office was walking down Havermeyer and running into Sweet Virginia, an adorable lilliputian vintage store on the South side of Williamsburg.
As you walk in, you get transported to another era, and even another place. The country-style curtains and tree branch clothing racks give this store a charming atmosphere, where you wish you could just plop down into the vintage blowdryer chair and spend the day chatting. Sometimes you can even listen Hank Williams in the background!
The store is chock-full of amazing vintage that the owner Lyuba and her cat Fifi handpick themselves. Some of the pieces are also reconstructed, infusing them with modern appeal and salvaging pieces that would otherwise would not be worn. They also offer custom alterations if you find the perfect piece you just must have, but it doesn’t fit quite right. I have taken advantage of that service myself, for a dress that quickly became my favorite.
