Holiday Wish List

I usually don't do holiday lists, since in my family we did away with the presents thing a while ago – we're all too picky, and there were no blogs or other websites to write your wishlists in, a click away from the perfect present for easy holiday shopping.

But, now that I have the blog, I would like to drop a few hints (AHEM!), and well, share with all of you my current obsessions, wildest dreams (in terms of presents), and things I must have - why not?!

1. Signature Scent

Aedes de Venustas Perfume

Aedes de Venustas Perfume by my favorite parfum house, L'Artisan Parfumeur

I've been wearing the same two scents for about 5 years now – one for summer and one for winter – and considering updating. Well, at least the Summer one, since sadly my signature scent has been discontinued! Farewell to Dzing! Hello to Aedes de Venustas? Not very summery, but I would like to start wearing it right away! For summer, I'm considering Bois d'Iris from The Different Company.

2. Snakeskin Booties

Snakeskin Booties from Loeffler Randall

Kay Cross-Zip Platform Bootie by Loeffler Randall

I've decided snakeskin booties go with everything! No really, they do. These are not only gorgeous, but will be comfortable even with the heel since they have the hidden platform. They're exclusive to LoefflerRandall.com, which hopefully means not everyone will have them, and they have the perfect nude and black python pattern. I MUST. OWN. THESE. BOOTS.

3. 70s Dior

70s Dior Bag

70s Dior Logo Clutch with Chain Strap, Rabbits on Market Publique

I've been obsessed with this 70s Dior purse ever since it was listed on Market Publique. One of the perils of running a vintage marketplace is that you always want everything! This bag though, is truly collectible. The 70s logo purses were the best, and they only made a small amount of the burgundy ones. Plus it's so versatile: large enough for the essentials, small enough to still be chic. The chain strap is awasome too. You can wear it single and make it longer, double as shown, or tuck it in to make it a clutch! And, if you've been following us on Twitter, you'll now I've been obsessed with burgundy for a while.

I was stunned when the price was reduced to $150 for the holiday sale and biting my nails, ridden with the anxiety that someone will snap it up before me, considering it's a bargain compared to this very similar brown one for $350! If some one wants to throw in the matching oversized sunglasses case too, I'm not going to complain.

4. A New iPhone

iPhone 3Gs

iPhone 3Gs (in black!)

I have the first iPhone ever. Yes, that one that's a fossil by now. Uh huh, you heard me right: it was bought the day it came out. And no, I didn't stand in line for hours at the Apple store in New York. As it happened, we went to my friend's wedding in Oklahoma, and Jon read on the plane that the first Apple store ever was opening in Tulsa that very day. We went - and there was no line! So I got I an iPhone.

By now, that thing has been used and abused so much, the buzzer motor is so tired it barely buzzes – it more wheezes like a tired old lady that smoked too much. I need a new one, can't live without it. Of course I want the 3Gs.

5. Perfect Pumps

Miu Miu Backseam Pump

Miu Miu Backseam Pump - all sold out at stores nationwide :(

Ok, I know I'm definitely not going to get these - as I've wanted them since the Summer and by now they're all sold out. I tried them on at the Nordstrom in Naples, FL, when I went with my mom in August, then visited them again at the Miu Miu in SoHo. When I decided I had to have these, it was too late - I called those two places and Barneys and they told me there was one pair left in the US - in a size 10 whaaah. They're available in red though... and they're on sale...hint hint.

6. Cocktail Attire

Cindy Hughes Outfit

Cindy Hughes Metallic 4-Piece Outfit, Horizons on Market Publique.

The party season is in full swing, and with so many events, I would be great to own a versatile piece such as this one. You may recognize this little number from the IFB Dress Up Soirée back in February, because I borrowed it from Horizons. I loved it so much and wanted to keep it, especially since it fit perfectly.

The best part - it's not a dress! It's actually a 4-piece set, which means endless possibilites. The skirt would be adorable with a sequin shell, the top is great with dark jeans for a casual night out, the sash can be worn as a headband, and the jacket could liven up any little black dress in my closet. When it comes down to it, each piece ends up coming up to $20 each - a steal!

7. Warm Boots

No. 6 Shearling Boot

No. 6 Shearling Suede and leather Boot

I have two pairs of Svens, and I adore them to death. The black ones are getting pretty old (they are two years old and have been worn almost every winter day) and need replacing. I would go get another pair of Svens if it werent for one of my favorite NYC vintage boutiques: No. 6. now has a better shearling clog boot. Why better? It's still super warm & water repellent but they also have a heel and they're actually from Sweden (Sven is American, it just sounds Swedish).
