Our Visit to Fair Folks and a Goat

A few days ago, we headed over to the Upper East Side to check out Fair Folks & A Goat. Housed in a posh apartment near Central Park, the unique space is kind of like a gallery, boutique and, well, posh apartment, all rolled into one. While nobody lives in the space, it is set up as a living room & sitting room, with books on the bookshelves and clothes in the closets. And as you walk through, you can really imagine enjoying an afternoon reading one of those said book on the chaise lounge.
The creators of the space, Aurora and Anthony, welcomed us in and offered us some iced tea and great company. We talked about everything from our mom's cool vintage jeans, to the perils of Chat Roulette, to the love for art and creative spaces. They meticulously curate every piece that comes to the space, filling it with modern and vintage furniture, original artwork, vintage from the famous Archive Vintage in Dallas, and other eccentric additions like goats and figurines.
Like what you see? You can take it home with you! Every piece in the space is for sale, so you can acquire anything you covet: the chairs, the artwork and, my personal favorite, the contents of the closet. Gasps emanated from the small hallway closets when it revealed everything from an Ossie Clark & Giorgio Sant'Anglelo dresses, to Moschino and Versace purses, to belts embellished with coins and animals.
Not in the mood for shopping? Fair Folks also hosts creative events so you can come and mingle, like live model drawing, independent designer trunk shows, movie screenings and more.
To make an appointment to visit the space, visit Fair Folks & A Goat for more information.
News: they are opening a new location in New Orleans soon!

A white goat sculpture welcomes you in, holding Fair Folk's business cards which feature Benjamin Franklin's Join or Die snake.

The main room is partly set up as a living room, complete with a white upholstered love seat, a red blu dot chair and a yellow rolling bar cart.

Our hosts, Anthony and Aurora, graciously offered us iced tea.

We loved the combo of books and vintage purses in the bookshelves.

The purses, from top to bottom: Vintage tiger striped, vintage Gucci, Versace & Moschino.

I couldn't resist trying on this belt, adorned with wild animals.

I loved the lions and elephants!

The jewelry selection was also quite impressive.

Especially this tassel belt, which could be easily worn as a lariat of sorts...
