The most important thing about any of the clothes you have in your closet?
Fit, fit and fit.
No matter how pretty it looks on the hanger, if it doesn't fit properly, then it won't look pretty on. At least, that's my motto. And I highly recommend adopting it, as you will not only look better in your clothes, you'll feel better, be able to move and sit down and do all sorts of quotidian things that you should be able to do easily when dressed.
Don't know how to sew? Help is here. If you live in the New York area, the WIlliamsburg Seamster is coming to the rescue! I found out about this modern-day hero when I took one of her postcards at Breanne Di Domenico's vintage store on Metropolitan (accross the street from the now-defunct Catbird store).
She will hem, alter and even make new stuff for you, so when you do your Spring Cleaning, make a nice heap of stuff that never quite fit right and get it to fit!
