V for Vintage Recap

The V for Vintage event in SoHo last weekend was so much fun. There was a DJ spinning 80s and early 90s music, drinks and tons and tons of excellent vintage. One of the most fun vintage-only events I've been to!

The sellers where all top notch, and there was plenty to browse and try on. Let's recap some of the booths:

(and excuse my blurry pics... my camera had some trouble in the basement...)

The event was organized by Tiffany of The Garment Room, and her booth was an impeccable mix of so-very-now neutrals, including rare and covetable items from Norma Kamali and Azzedine Alaïa.

As I walked in, the fist booth I visited was Olive's Very Vintage, which was right as I walked down the stairs. I had bought the most fabulous bathing suit from them at the last Manhattan Vintage Show. The racks where filled with goodies, including a black dress with a twisted bust halter neck and a seashell print dress that I really wanted, but unfortunately didn't fit - oh well!

Next to Olive's booth, I met the oh-so-fabulous Honey of 1 of a Find NYC. Her booth had many covetable items, including a red Gucci bag that I resisted buying, but have not stopped thinking about ever since. I did, however, purchase some amazing white Garolini peeptoe pumps with a flat bow and the most amazing golden toe - admire them hanging from the chair in the photo below (and await a surprise with them in it later this week...).

I also visited Suzanne of Poppet at her booth, where I browsed through an array of very collectible and drool-worthy pieces. And the shoes, oh the shoes! She had rack and racks full of them, all winking at me to take them home, especially the Maud Frizons. I resisted, since I had just bought the white pair, as you know...

The only other thing I purchased, as I am trying to stick to my budget (very hard!), was a tropical print skirt from Tessi + June Vintage. Their pieces were right on trend and very well priced, so I was happy to learn about this seller, which was new to me! You can also find them at the Brooklyn Flea.

I also met Carlos form Knee Deep, a Chicago-based vintage store that made the special trip for V for Vintage. They had adorable floral dresses and rompers perfect for Summer, plus a one-shouldered jumpsuit I did my best to fit into...

Another Chicago store present was Sofia Vintage, whose rack was filled with glamourous sequined dresses and tops, among other things.

And last but not least,  there was also the fabulous booth of Exquisite Costume, of which I did take photos, but they were too blurry to post... next time I'm taking a better camera with me, I promise! Visit their website for, well, exquisite YSL, Moschino, and other designer vintage wear.
