What the Thrifters Found & The Winner of our Thrifting Contest

As an incentive for the bloggers to dig and really get into it at the thrifting tour, we decided to offer a prize for the best thrifted find if you showed us how you styled it. As if finding an awesome thing for a steal was not enough!

We felt it was important to show it styled, because often when you just see the 'diamond in the rough' that may be a thrifted piece and you at first show it to people, sometimes you are faced with that quizzical look of  'are you serious?' or the just plain 'how fugly'. But as we all know, bloggers are the masters of turning something ? into something ! . 

So here are our favorite thrifted finds from the tour, plus our winner - go got super lucky and not only found this amazing dress (it's a two-piece!) for $12, but also got to take home a $100 gift certificate to Market Publique, Elissa's Thrifting 101 book and more amazing goodies.

The winner was picked by all the tour leaders. I especially loved Jentine's story on how we helped Kirsten find her winning item and Kirsten's account on the whole thrifting tour thing. Congrats Kirsten!

I found this deadstock feather hat that styled many a tech nerd for the Made In NY photobooth (and beyond).

Jessie and I decided to take a funny photo with it.

And this awesome geometric gold bracelet, which I wore immediately!
